Comment is (Not) Free. The Guardian CiF Joke…

Albert Einstein :- “The right to search for truth implies also a duty; one must not conceal any part of what one has recognized to be true.”

I posted this on The Guardian site at 11.47 this morning and then it was gone… I must have touched a nerve. I wonder which brave little poster felt which part to be too strong to stomach?

So much for the vaunted freedom of the press lol.

Though often proved right by the passage of time I seldom gloat.

I am making an exception for a couple of reasons, not least of which is the amount of and the particularly spiteful mindedness of some of the denizens herein.

Who, exactly, is in denial now? The disgusting behavior of a vocal minority of “believers” who have too much time on their hands or are morally or fiscally invested in the, now fast unraveling, hypothesis that the very gas that allows life to flourish will kill us all soon if we continue to increase its levels to those it has resided at often in times past.
Or we release it too fast.
Or its increasing level in atmosphere will change the pH of the oceans as it approaches levels attained many times before.
Or global temps will rise to previous levels and, miraculously, this time methane release in the Arctic will spell doom.
Or something else invented by rent seeking cheats that will remain unfounded and un-falsifiable, yet profitable for an elite few.

You never did have any evidence that CO2 caused the warming at the end of the 20th century but that didn’t curb your enthusiasm for control, your attacks on progress and your endless malice toward unbelievers.

Sure, there were those thousands of papers by thousands of scientists, supported by all the major scientific institutions, that showed some warming in their chosen fields. We never denied those. All we asked for was real world evidence that our small contribution to the carbon cycle had some effect upon that, now a decade distant, warming.
We were denigrated for asking and denied a platform for debate. One should be extremely careful when witnessing such. One day the boot and foot will switch sides. That is the nature of politicized science.

Meanwhile the very companies/corporations that pollute the biosphere, fish the oceans to extinction, devise new weapons, splice genes and keep billions of your fellow humans in poverty whilst working them into an early gave are laughing at you and pocketing your taxes.
All that effort invested in a weak and sickly hypothesis when it could have done some real good.
All that lack of protest about truly devastating environmental impacts while throwing yourselves, unthinking, against the relentless inertia of the current necessities of modern life such as coal and oil powered energy generation that allows us to progress as all our discovered sources of energy have done previously.
All that spleen vented at entities that provide true benefits in your lives, such as well lit hospitals and libraries, that could have been reserved for government insistence on massive intrusion into your privacy, drug company insistence that herbal cures and organic food are a waste of your money or the dogmatic insistence that war is a necessary evil.

At least the energy companies have to provide tangible goods and services for your hard earned, unlike the carbon trading companies who merely need to purchase ink and paper to “produce” their certificates and will turn over, in the coming decade alone, more cash than all the oil companies throughout all their history. Without a commodity, or a benefit to humanity in sight.

Never mind, big business has many more specters lined up to divert you from true husbandry of the planet, only desirable and possible above a certain level of wealth – a level that we no longer enjoy. They will continue to use the very vessels you admire to do so. Greenpeace, WWF and Friends of the Earth have become grasping arms of the uncaring corporate machine and it happened on your watch. You have helped to build the brave new world our children will inherit. It will not be warm or cozy.

I hope you are proud of yourselves, but I guess you will just continue down the easy path and blame someone else, pick fights with your brothers and wallow, luxuriously, in your guilt. Exactly as “the man” would want.

declaration
I have no financial interest and have no expectation of financial or material reward from the energy industry..

… but I cannot fail to see that the, previously considered obscene, profits of ExxonMobil will be utterly dwarfed by Goldman Sachs, Blood and Gore in the carbon exchanges of the free world and I have far more to be grateful for from fossil fuels than I ever have, or will, from elitist control freaks.

Inventor Of The Telly Box Speaks Out

Daniel Patrick Moynihan :-
“Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but not their own facts.”

This is going to appear to be the biggest ad hom ever. I am still going through with it because this gasbag needs deflating before there is a major accident involving the inflammatory vapors that ooze from his vicinity.

Due to belch more fiery green evangelical flatulence on “60 Minutes” this coming Saturday Albert Arnold Gore Jr, you know the guy – got Ds in science at college, dropped a “gimme” on becoming POTUS, has already earned over $100,000,000 with chicken little fear-mongering of Leviathan proportions about humans warming the planet somehow, has the Dynamite Prize for Peace 2007 (albeit shared with the politicians, and political servants, of the UN IPCC) and an Oscar for his sci-fi horror movie, “An Inconvenient Cold Period” has laid out his agenda using some choice words in the run up. I thought it would be amusing, or at least diverting, to revisit some of his more shall we say, fragrant, musings.

Let us pay, oh bored.

“I took the initiative in creating the Internet.” This has been the subject of much snorting and grunting. It is, however, exactly what he uttered. Al created the very medium that delivers this very message. Phew. Thanks Al. Lots of people have mis-spoken (rofl) about this statement juxtaposing “invented” for “created” but what the hey? It’s only one word.

“There is no controlling legal authority that says this was in violation of law.” seems to me like there is no limit, controlled or otherwise, to what Al will do for a dollar or how “economical with the truth” he is prepared to be to get some more – from anywhere. There being .3 of a billion available for “advertising” the “facts” of global warming may have something to do with the media scrambling after him in the face of the severe cold weather a lot of us have been suffering recently. Gotta love the facts. I was always taught that I would never see a sugar advert as they weren’t needed. I have still never seen an advert for sugar.

“I spent most of my time in the field” This would give the impression that he wasn’t cosseted from the start to the finish of his “tour” in “‘nam”. His guards and guides are on record as saying such eloquent things as “…we went into the field after the fact and that limited his exposure to any hazards.” (H. Alan Leo, photographer) and “It was the equivalent of being a school crossing guard. I know guys that didn’t even take their rifles with them.” (Michael O’Hara, close army buddy)

“I looked around the country for other sites like that. I found a little place in upstate New York called Love Canal.” Sure about that Al? Seems a little smelly to me. Again there is a lot of hot air blown out of both ends about this one – but it is what he said. Verbatim.

So forgive me for being underwhelmed when this Titan of truth mouths such quasi-scientific sound bites as:

“I think that those people are in such a tiny, tiny minority now with their point of view…” I presume here that he means the many scientists (I wont go into the who and where as we are all adults, I hope, capable of investigation on our own and reaching conclusions based on our findings – oh darn) who vehemently oppose his views. The ones he ignores as well as attacks yet provides no platform for debate.

“…the ones who still believe that the moon landing was staged in a movie lot in Arizona…” and there was me thinking it was Nevada. I will just use your internets to check….. don’t wait up.

“…and those who believe the world is flat…” as opposed to those that believe the Sun has no influence on climate or weather or night or day or winter or summer? Al? Al? Oh sorry, I forgot you don’t take questions. So much for debate and settled science then. Little wonder that you have been described as having “a penchant for hyperbole”.

I have never written a piece containing so many euphemisms for the words lie, lies and lying.

I would rather put my faith in an AlGorithm and we know they can only predict the past.

1200ppmv CO2 would be “Wonderful”

Dr. Joanne Simpson :-
“We all know the frailty of models concerning the air-surface system. We only need to watch the weather forecasts.”

Plant respiration and photosynthesis is a refrigeration process and causes overall cooling. The single experimentally proven result of an increase in CO2 levels is increased plant growth – both in speed and size. The current 383ppvm CO2 is considered to be “dangerously low for plants on earth” and the world would be a more lush one if we could somehow get levels up to three times that(1200-1500 ppmv would be wonderful) The greatest gift the developed nations can give to the third world is free fertilizer in the form of higher CO2 levels.

The UN IPCC and all those scientists and politicians who claim to support the “computer models” is in the business of creating a new world currency, and policy, that they alone control. They use this power to prevent third world countries from ever becoming developed, they will tax the living daylights out of anyone who can afford it – and most of them won’t even notice and they definitely won’t stop using airplanes and SUVs – and leave unchecked India and China who are now the largest producers of plant food, sorry CO2 that vital ingredient for life on Earth NOT a pollutant.

As with so much in this brave new world black has become white and CO2 will be blamed for the coming cold century yet carbon is the most miraculous of elements and it being put in such a bad light should show us all which way  the wind blows. There is an insidious dark agenda at play and when the proof arrives, in the form of a solar cycle that freezes all our assets, that agenda will be revealed for all to see. The Sun is coming to our rescue but, unfortunately, those of us living north of the tropics will feel it’s bite. I only hope that those people who have been suckered by this veil of lies will put their righteous fury, upon realizing the truth, into a campaign to expose the inherent inequity of “peer review” and “consensus” and hold the IPCC and Al Gore accountable for the, already, massive damage they have done to economies and lives. It would be nice if Al gave his Nobel and Oscar back – along with using the 100,000,000 dollars he has “accumulated” in the last 8 (eight) years to undo some of the harm. He could dissolve the carbon credit companies he co-owns with the bankers also.
Hey if they can try to give me nightmares I can dream can’t I?

Edith Sitwell :-
“The public will believe anything, so long as it is not founded on truth.”

Cold is the new Hot

Thomas Henry Huxley The Father of Science wrote:-
The improver of natural knowledge absolutely refuses to acknowledge authority, as such. For him, scepticism is the highest of duties; blind faith the one unpardonable sin.

Here we are then – freezing our assets off when all around are shouting “Anthropogenic Global Warming”. Not only that but scientists on both sides of the divide refuse to entertain the Sun did it let alone the planets did it. Some of them get quite upset when you claim that there are solar cycles that coincide with planetary cycles, most notably Jupiter’s. Some get protective of their own field maybe losing funding and credit because some civilian with zero academic qualifications has used a commonly available software and data to show that planetary alignments do have an inherent harmony and it has an effect on the Sun. Seems so obvious yet it infuriates climatologists and other scientists. They refuse point blank to entertain any idea that forces they can’t measure have any effect on the star at the center of our planetary system. If they were really on the side of skepticism, as all good scientists should be they would simply investigate the proposal with an open mind. Most would rather wave their hand to swat the pest away from their general area muttering “astrology, nut-case, unscientific” and the like. They hope that this will all just fade away…..

In which case: HERE BE MONSTERS –

Use of a digital orrery is recommended to speed your path to enlightenment. Take a heliocentric, isometric view of the solar system and pull back until all the planets can be observed in 3D in the program window. Then set the time. Pick a year such as 829AD, or 1010AD, the years the Nile froze. Yep – it has been that cold in human history at times. See how the planets were positioned then? Do you think there may be other, similar, climate events at other times that share the same configuration of planetary bodies if you press the “animate” button? Correlate. Are you getting that tingle up your spine? That mixture of “it cannot be that simple” and “why didn’t I think of this” that points to a theory “ringing true” in the receptive ears of an open-minded researcher. Ah. I remember it well. When I was first shown this system the utter elegance and obvious repeatability had me slack jawed in envy and awe. We can predict the weather (or climate/whatever;-) and this gives us the chance to save lives and improve the circumstances of our fellow man.

So much for our carbon footprints. So much for CO2 being a forcing on climate, or weather depending on if you believe they are the same or not, or even being a greenhouse gas – settled science indeed. The world is waking up to the facts on climate change. Global warming is being used to scare us and fix tax policy and a global currency around a premise that humans caused the small and benign warming we have felt in the last few decades by their CO2 and other greenhouse gas emissions yet nothing could be further from the truth. Carbon credit trading is a crime against humanity for several reasons which will be laid out here along with further elucidation on The System discovered by Ulric Lyons in 2006.
